SBGuidance Side-Shift is a variant in the SBGuidance series that side-shifts the implement using a hydraulic side-shift cylinder in order to keep the implement accurately positioned.
The driver steers along the previous track (which is straight). Deviations up to ± 10 cm are corrected by the side-shift (depending on the cylinder size). The GPS antenna is mounted on top of the implement itself.
Because the implement is directly controlled it is possible to reach the highest accuracy (± 2cm). The deviation that the GPS indicates is equal to the actual deviation of the implement relative to the desired position. The system can always be installed on the implement afterwards.
The side-shift system is also available as a removable system that can be quickly trans-mounted e.g. from a planting machine to a sowing machine.
Samples where the SBGuidance Side-shift has been applied:
- Carrot- en chicory crop. Planting potatoes with a hitch-mounted planting machine;
- Seedbed preparation, combined with a drawing a marker line;
- Planting flower bulbs, lettuce and other high value vegetable crops.
